Folk at the Froize is a monthly event which takes place in the heart of the Suffolk countryside, close to the Heritage Coast in a place called Chillesford. David Grimwood, owner of the Froize, wants to bring together two of his passions in one evening: gorgeous music and fabulous food (all locally sourced of course).

We are hoping to support the UK music scene, both locally and nationally. We plan on bringing you artists that you may or may not have had the opportunity to hear before, that we think are simply wonderful. Don’t be fooled by the name … it’s not just about Folk music. ‘Folk’ covers such a broad spectrum of musical styles these days, and we plan on finding some real gems!

Gilmore and Roberts are a contemporary folk/acoustic duo who combine award-winning songwriting with astounding musicianship and their trademark harmonies to create a powerful wall of sound. Nominated three times at the BBC Radio 2 Folk AwardsKatriona Gilmore (fiddle, mandolin) and Jamie Roberts (guitar) have toured Canada and mainland Europe,

Support will be from Shorelark, a young folk duo comprising singer-songwriter and guitarist Georgia Morgan Turner, and recorder player and English folk multi-instrumentalist Finn Collinson. Meticulous arrangements, unusual instrumentation, and worldwide influences, from Brazilian music to Baroque.

Andreas Tophøj and Rune Barslund, are two leading Danish folk musicians of their generation, who perform with violin, accordion, viola and piano. This accomplished duo has its roots in Denmark’s peninsula Jutland, and are crossing borders to reach out into the world with their music this year. We are very excited that they'll be visiting us at the Froize on their debut UK tour.

Acoustic Merry Hell, an incarnation of Wigan's finest is a six piece! A folk-rock band with a history, a pedigree and a bright future. In four short years they have risen to become festival favourites, their first two albums finding favour with critics, broadcasters and music fans alike. They will be gracing the Froize with their presence on the 4th December for a evening of festive fun.
